At Indian Public School Howrah, we believe that parents are our most valued partners in nurturing and shaping the future of every child. Our school’s success is rooted in open communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to your child’s academic and personal growth. This page is dedicated to keeping you informed, empowered, and engaged in your child’s educational journey.

Your Role in Our School Community

As a parent, your involvement matters. From monitoring daily routines and supporting discipline to attending Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and staying updated with school communications, your participation directly impacts your child’s confidence and success. We encourage you to take an active interest in your child’s schoolwork, co-curricular activities, and overall well-being.

Communication & Visiting Hours

Our school office is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on all working days. For administrative queries, document submissions, or fee payments, please visit during these hours.

If you wish to meet the Principal, class teachers, or coordinators outside of scheduled PTMs, kindly request an appointment in advance. This ensures that your concerns are addressed thoughtfully and without disruption to classes.
To book a meeting, simply call or email the school office, or visit in person during office hours. Please bring your Escort Card for identification when visiting the campus.

General Guidelines for Parents

  • Stay Connected: Check your child’s school almanac daily for notes, assignments, and important updates. Sign the communication section to acknowledge messages from teachers.
  • Attendance & Health: Ensure your child attends school regularly, especially on the first and last day of each term. If your child is unwell, keep them at home until fully recovered. For absences longer than three days, submit a medical certificate.
  • Respect School Policies: Students must wear the full school uniform every day, including birthdays. No valuables, gadgets, or large sums of cash should be brought to school. Gifts for birthdays or special occasions are not allowed, except for two toffees per classmate.
  • Escort Card: Always carry the official Escort Card when picking up your child or attending school events. Lost cards must be reported and replaced promptly.
  • Parent-Teacher Meetings: Attend all PTMs with your child in school uniform. If unable to attend, inform the class teacher in advance.
  • Communication Protocol: Address all written communication to the class teacher and include your child’s full details for clarity.
  • Support Discipline: Encourage your child to respect school property, follow rules, and maintain good manners. Avoid criticizing teachers or the school in front of your child, as this can affect their learning attitude.

Unique Ways to Get Involved

  • Volunteer for School Events: Join us in organizing cultural programs, sports days, or community service initiatives.
  • Share Your Expertise: If you have a special skill or professional experience, let us know! We welcome guest speakers and workshop leaders.
  • Participate in Parent Forums: Attend special sessions where you can share feedback, offer suggestions, and help us enhance the school experience for everyone.
