Code of Conduct
Code of Conduct
At Indian Public School Howrah, we believe that discipline and integrity are the foundations of a strong educational environment. In accordance with CBSE directives, every student will be regularly assessed on discipline, which includes factors such as attendance, sincerity, behavior, values, tidiness, respect for school rules, and attitude towards society and the nation. We urge all students and parents to carefully read and follow the guidelines below to help us build a positive and respectful school community.
Our Expectations for Every Student
- Uphold the School’s Reputation:
Every student is an ambassador of Indian Public School Howrah. Your actions, both inside and outside the school, reflect on our institution. Always be courteous, greet teachers and staff, and behave in a manner that brings pride to your school. - Practice Respect and Kindness:
Treat everyone—teachers, classmates, visitors, and staff—with respect and kindness. Bullying, cruelty, use of inappropriate language, or any form of aggression is strictly forbidden and will result in disciplinary action. Remember, true strength lies in compassion and empathy. - Maintain Honesty and Integrity:
Always be truthful in your words and actions. Cheating, stealing, or borrowing without permission is unacceptable. If you make a mistake, own up to it and learn from the experience. - Be Responsible and Sincere:
Complete all assignments and tasks with sincerity. Face challenges with courage and confidence. Take initiative to help others—whether at home, in school, or in the community. - Respect School Property and Environment:
Take care of your classroom, school furniture, and all facilities. Report any damage immediately to a teacher. Keep your surroundings clean and avoid littering in classrooms, labs, corridors, or the school grounds. - Promote Inclusivity and Brotherhood:
Embrace and respect people from all backgrounds, regardless of caste, color, or creed. View everyone as equals and foster a spirit of unity and friendship. - Demonstrate Self-Control:
Avoid idle gossip, shouting, whistling, or running in the corridors. Physical aggression, throwing objects, or any disruptive behavior is strictly prohibited. - Follow Uniform and Grooming Standards:
Wear your school uniform with pride and maintain a neat appearance. Boys should keep hair trimmed, not covering the forehead or collar. Girls must tie their hair in tidy ponytails or plaits. Blazers and ties are compulsory during winter. Do not wear the school uniform in public places outside school without permission. - Be Prepared and Organized:
Bring your school almanac and identity card every day. Keep your belongings organized and ensure that your workspace is tidy at all times. - Respect Authority and Rules:
Stand up when a teacher or visitor enters the classroom. Always listen to instructions and follow school regulations diligently. Never hesitate to say “no” to anything you know is wrong. - Contribute Positively:
Instead of complaining about problems, look for ways to make a positive difference. Take pride in your school and strive to make it a better place for everyone. - Protect Privacy and Digital Responsibility:
Do not bring cameras to school or take photographs of school activities without written permission. Uploading school photos or videos to social media without consent is strictly prohibited and will lead to disciplinary consequences.
By following this code of conduct, you help create a safe, respectful, and inspiring environment for all. Let us work together to uphold the values and traditions of Indian Public School Howrah, and to make our school a place where every student can thrive and grow into a responsible citizen. Let your actions speak for your character—be the reason our school is known for excellence and integrity.
